Premier Strength-Driven Interval Training Concept Opens in Northeast Wichita
Fitness will never be the same in Wichita.
MADabolic, the only strength-driven interval training concept, is redefining the local fitness scene with its upcoming opening in the northeast corner of the city. Situated along Greenwich Rd. and 26th St., just off of K-96 (11120 E. 26th St N., Suite 700), MADabolic sets a new standard in Wichita for group fitness.
Yvette and Monte Ysidro are the local entrepreneurs behind the area’s first MADabolic. For local high achieving fitness enthusiasts seeking a contagious fusion of strength and endurance, MADabolic provides a next-level kind of consistency and accountability unmatched by any other gym.
“My husband and I know a strong fitness concept when we see one, and we were quickly drawn to MADabolic,” said Yvette, a driven entrepreneur who has been part of the local business scene for several years. “We embrace the essence of MAD, pushing members out of their comfort zone and providing long-term, sustainable results. There is nothing like it in Wichita, and I know that our community will quickly jump to be part of the MADabolic culture.”
To celebrate its arrival in Wichita, the Ysirdos are hosting a MAD & Mingle event on Thursday, December 17 from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. Attendees are invited to tour the facility, chat with the new owners and enjoy food and drink catered by Meddys in Wichita. Exhibition classes are also taking place from December 14 to December 18 for Founding Members and those who sign up for MADabolic’s generous 10 days for $10 intro offer. The Ysidros bring a wealth of local business knowledge and acumen to MADabolic. Previously, the couple successfully started and ran Specs Eyewear, a leading sunglass and prescription eyewear chain. Monte is also the co-founder of Eyewear Junkie, an innovative subscription-based business model. Additionally, the Ysidros owned the popular aviation-themed Stearman Bar and Grill before selling it in 2019 as part of a long-term plan to grow their eyewear businesses and open a fitness franchise. With a keen understanding of entrepreneurship and a strong interest in fitness, the Ysidros have a solid foundation to introduce the MADabolic program to Wichita.
MADabolic’s distinctive interval system is crafted entirely around work-to-rest ratios, which present a challenging-yet-accessible environment for each client. Trainer-led, 50-minute classes include an in-depth demonstration of each movement and a carefully structured warmup to match the specific demands of the daily workout. Fostering a results-driven culture of members who place a high emphasis on structure, accountability and results, MADabolic believes in the benefits of daily routine.
“The Ysidros are the perfect pair to introduce the region to our brand,” said Rick Del Sontro, brand president of MADabolic. “Wichita is our first Midwest location, so we knew we had to team up with the right people to uphold our standard for the high-achieving fitness enthusiast locally.”
As the gym opens and welcomes locals through its doors, MADabolic is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy space for members and staff. Even prior to the pandemic, MADabolic’s operations were designed in a way that allows for it to be COVID compliant. MADabolic has always been known for its clean structure and spacious footprint. At one-and-a-half to two-times the size of competitors, the training floor allows for easy social distancing, and the class structure provides a minimum of six to 10 feet between each client. Each location ranges from 3,000 to 4,500 square feet and the classes have always been capped at 20 to 25 clients. This provides adequate traffic patterns and safe spacing between members and trainers.
